Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the ‘accessibility regulations’). If you’re not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Gamu Studios is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to exemptions and non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Some images do not have image descriptions, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content). It is beyond our capacity to fix some of these issues as the website and its building tools are outsourced.
Some time-based media does not have an alternative format, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.1 (Audio-only and Video-only (Prerecorded)). We will be uploading alternative formats for some time-based media in 2025 and aim to improve our organisation’s resources and capacity to fully meet this criterion.
Some audio content does not have captions, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded)). It is beyond our capacity to fix some of these issues as the website and its building tools are outsourced.
Some video content does not have audio descriptions or media alternatives, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.3 (Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded), success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded), and success criterion 1.2.7 (Extended Audio Description (Prerecorded)). We will be uploading alternative formats for some time-based media in 2025 and aim to improve our organisation’s resources and capacity to fully meet this criterion.
There is no sign language interpretation for any audio content, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.6 (Sign Language (Prerecorded)). We aim to improve our organisation’s resources and capacity to fully meet this criterion.
Some text and images have a contrast ratio below 3:1 or 4.5:1, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)), success criterion 1.4.6 (Enhanced)), and success criterion 1.4.11 (non-text contrast). We aim to improve our organisations resources to co-produce website content with experts by experience, so that we can fully meet this criterion.
Some content disappears when hovering with the mouse’s pointer, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.13 (Content on Hover or Focus)). It is beyond our capacity to fix some of these issues as the website and its building tools are outsourced.
Some content and information are presented in a blinking, scrolling, or auto-updating format, and this fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.2.2 (Pause, Stop, Hide). We will consider this failure in our next site redesign.
Disproportionate burden
We’ve assessed the cost of fixing the issues with navigation and accessing information. We believe that fixing inaccessible content is beyond the capacity and budget of the organisation at present, and therefore this would be disproportionate within the meaning of the accessibility regulations. We will make another assessment when the supplier contract is up for renewal, likely to be in 2026.
Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
Live video
We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.
